Good morning antique lovers!
Today as part of my Mothers Day series I will take you on a tour of the Barrie Antique Centre, in Barrie, ON, Canada to search for some great gift ideas for Mom. If you have visited this mall before you will have likely heard that they are closing their doors for good June 30, 2019, but there are still many great deals to be found.
|
Shortly after entering the mall on the first floor I spotted this great 1950's "Mad Men" style 2 Piece Suit for Just $65 and it was even in a size 6-8. |
As you come in the front door you instantly recognize that you are going to be here for awhile, with 3 floors of vendors you can easily get lost. Not that getting lost amongst tons of great antiques would be a bad thing. Then only a few short foot steps in the next booth I spotted a wealth of antique records and phonographs and this book which would make a wonderful conversation piece as a coffee table book.
|
Just $20.00!
Next I travelled through the lower floor and no visit is complete without visiting the "Room" if you watched yesterdays video this is the room I speak of. Taken from an English Country House the panelled room is now on sale for $28,000 and the vendor jokes "Spend $10,000 and receive a Free Coffee" - I just need to win the lottery as I love this room. See Tuesdays video because a photo doesn't do it justice.
Next find was this great plate which was very summery, I loved the colours and I can picture this looking great hung on the wall of the kitchen to add a great splash of colour.

1980's vintage decorative plate $39 |
Then it was onward and upward to the second floor of the mall; where I found many more great buys for Mom including this great corner shelf unit. Many parents are downsizing so furniture purchases can be tricky but I spotted this great corner shelf unit that would be great.
And for the Mom who collects China I also eyed this beautiful dish set which would look stunning when entertaining.
|
A 6 place setting Myott England dish set for $145 that had a wonderful Art Deco look. |
Next on my tour I found a treasure trove of vintage bicycles, what Mom couldn't resist going for a ride this spring on a cool vintage bike.
Continuing my walk through the second floor I next came across this converted work table which would make a great centre island in a kitchen. It has a wonderful look to it and would make a great work surface complete with the centre area to add decorative items or even everyday items you use to cook.
|
This unique workbench table was priced at $1100 but many of the booths are offering discounts so if you were in the market for Mom or yourself for a great kitchen island now would be the time to go. |
And then I cam across this next great find, I instantly thought of "Tweety Bird" coming across this Art Deco style bird cage and stand.
|
Art Deco bird cage just $120. |
Next I found some great décor items including a retro looking floor lamp and other much older items. For the more modern décor vintage lighting is in now, and if Mom has a newer look then this light may be for her.
On my tour there were so many items and you could spend so much time this article doesn't have enough room but I will include a few more items I found in my tour.
|
Vintage lamp just $25 |
|
This was interesting it was a tapestry / wall screen divider, I didn't see a price on this one but what a unique piece to divide up a room without closing in the space completely. |
|
Amazing Art Deco lamp, at first it looked like a wall sconce but it is actually a table lamp; priced at $135. |
This ends my tour of the Barrie Antique Centre, I was exhausted .... But hey you said there were 3 floors what happened to the third floor. Well this is a Mothers Day series, so all I can say is the 3rd floor is more for Dad with some super cool garage collectables for the perfect man cave.
The Barrie Antique Centre is located at 272 Innisfil St., Barrie, ON Canada and remember it is all done June 30th, 2019 so act fast to get some great gifts for Mothers Day.
Make sure to check back tomorrow for my next post.
