Mother's Day Series: Homemade Flower Pressing Craft with Video Tutorial!

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday! Today we are going to do a neat Mother's Day craft and gift idea: Flowers dried and pressed in glass, perfect for any mom's home décor! Today we have a whole smorgasbord including pictures, written directions and a short video!

So firstly, for advice I looked up a how-to article on Better Homes and Gardens website which has both the iron method and long-wait book pressing we are comparing in today's blog: HERE

I will mention, DO NOT use parchment paper like I did as it is not absorbent enough!

I started by layering flowers between cut pieces of paper and pressing with heavy books as seen below:

For this method you will need the space for a pile of heavy books for 2-3 weeks!!

Be sure to check back in 2 weeks for the end result of the book-pressed flower drying method!

Here is a short video how-to of the iron-press flower method:

I will say, I could have easily ironed for at least another few minutes, but we will see how it turns out in a few weeks. Here is the end result of the iron-pressed flower method:

Be sure to keep an eye out for the follow up on this great Mother's Day Gift Craft!!!

Have a great day and thank you for visiting Samantha's Lake Country Collectables!!! As always, be sure to check out my Etsy Store for more great Mother's Day Gift Ideas!
